One feature I liked was a secondary tab you need to retract to remove the battery. That way, when you unlock the battery it doesn't just fall out. Some thought was put into the idea there and I appreciated it. The battery meter is comprised of five segments to give you an estimate of how much power you have left. On the other hand, in the time I've had an e-bike, I have barely touched my poor Trek bike. E-biking is very powerful and addictive, and it has ruined traditional cycling for me, and I can't decide if that's a good thing. If you look closely, you can see the metal bar sticking through the wheel. Also, the switchblade key is visible, inserted into the lock. It’s a good blend of “comfortable while sitting on it at the store” without being horrendous to actually ride. It’s, obviously, 3D - I really hate those 2D seats, so this is a good one. These are definitely easy on the feet or shoes, and are perfectly fine for barefoot riding, should you care to do so. They seem to be quite strong units, and I wouldn’t expect any problems with them, ever. They’re nothing special, but they work quite well. Wrapping the front wheel is a decent enough fender, though it terminates a bit higher in the rear than I’d like for the wet Seattle winters (road spray). So, if you commute, or you frequently run errands, an e-bike can save you a lot of gas, and get you outside more. So now that we've waxed philosophic about e-bikes, let's get to the Coston CE. We've addressed those concerns by designing Extended Life Batteries for a couple of our best-selling e-bikes. In short, think primarily about what you want to do on your e-bike, where you're most likely to ride it, and how much you want to spend. This makes it easy for riders that are new to e-bikes. As a commuter e-bike, I’m also glad to see some good commuter specific parts, like the included fenders and the excellent lighting. Not only do you get typical head and taillights, but you also have LED frame lights built into the sides of the battery.
